what's a self-care ritual?


Reader, I know you're super busy and probably stressed so I'll keep this short.

Rituals are simply practices or behaviors that allow us to shift our energy, intentionally. You may already have rituals present in your life; putting on your sunglasses and turning on the radio when you're getting ready to drive. This practice helps you get into driving mode. Or maybe when you wake up everyday, you go into the bathroom and wash your face, brush your hair, and put on deodorant. This is a waking ritual.

We practice rituals so we feel ready to face whatever is coming in the next moments.

Self-care Rituals are not about caring for yourself in reverse. And while that's important, I'm talking about preventative care. Similar to what I described above, your driving ritual gets you ready to drive, it's not a moment of recovery.

Recovery self-care is what most people think of when they talk about self-care.

But I want to talk to you about setting yourself up to face whatever is coming in the next moments. That's what we use self-care rituals for.
